A visit with the Via's
A couple weekends ago we had such an awesome experience that no one ever thought would've ever happened. When you meet people in college who you know but you don't really know, know, you think, "they are really nice, I wish I could've gotten to know them better." Then, you graduate, go separate ways and don't think twice about it. With the use of blogs and facebook, we have had the opportunity to reconnect with tons of people from college who are doing amazing ministry across the nation and the world! We were able to bring Josh and Tasha Via down from N.C. to come and lead service for our group at Oasis. The Via's have an amazing ministry from leading worship, to recording awesome CD's, these are some of the most talented people you will ever meet. Tasha and I were in the music department together at NGC, I studied music ed. and she studied music performance. Josh and Curt were in christian studies together, but Josh and Tasha were 2 years ahead of us. What a blessing they brought to Oasis. Josh and Tasha took some questions from our congregation about relationships and Godly submission and did a fantastic job answering those questions. I am so thankful to have had the chance to be part of this special day at Oasis. Here is a picture of all the Via's and all the Hanna's at lunch. Between the two families, there were 10 people in our house...such fun....not much warm water, but still, lots of fun!!!
Sidenote: NGU is the most amazing college ever, send your kids there!!!!

Hanna Grands.....

This past Sunday I had the opportunity to make
pictures of mine and Curt's three kids and their sweet cousin Brantley.
Brantley is expecting a new sister in March, so I am sure the
photo sessions will continue after that little one is born.
Here are just a few shots from yesterday, some are better than others.
Aren't these the cutest little kids you have ever seen?Monday, December 7, 2009
Overwhelmed Overjoyed
Have you ever been there,
in that place where the world is spinning
so fast and you don't know how you made it through the day?
You wake up with the
same expression as the day before
Restless and exhausted all at the same time.
Stop, breathe, take a look around
Blessed is what you are
tired yes, but blessed beyond measure
Little hands, little socks
snuggles and snotty noses
Security, commitment, and love
overwhelmed, overjoyed!

Just a thought....
I encourage each of you, no matter where you serve in your local church....please pray for your pastor! Pastor's struggle with many things that some of us will never be able to comprehend, so take some time today to lift your pastor up in prayer. Here is a blog post from Perry Noble on more specific ways you can pray for your church leaders and pastors.

Twilight, Yes I am a Dork

I am a die hard Twilight Saga fan, shocker, I know right? I have read the books 4 times and when Twilight came out last year, I was number 4 in line at the theatre and then I went back and saw it 5 more times before it came out on DVD in March. So, like all you Twilight fans, I was pretty pumped about New Moon. A group of my friends and I had a pre New Moon party complete with Twilight and pizza. We then went to the theatre and waited in line from 9:30-11:30 to make sure we got the best seats in the house when New Moon made its movie premiere at midnight. I thought Twilight was pretty good, but New Moon was so much better. Edward and Bella's acting was outstanding, Edward had me in tears when he had to leave Bella. I am 100% Team Edward, but Jacob was awesome too. I was shocked that he wasn't portrayed as more of a jerk though. I was planning on seeing it again tonight but it is sold out. Hopefully over Thanksgiving I will have a chance to see it again. Love the characters, love the story of good versus evil and bad guy or good guy. It gets me every time!!!
